Stefanie Schmitz Stefanie Schmitz was born in Germany in 1966. She has a B.A. in Spanish and a Diploma in Hispanic Studies. She is a foreign languages teacher for Spanish and German. She has taught English, Spanish and German in high schools and in private language schools. She caught the travel bug on a solo trip to Jamaica in 1991. Nothing has been able to cure her since, not even monkey bites. From 1994-1997 she worked in Costa Rica for the German Embassy, then she moved to the UK and worked in public schools as a Foreign Languages Teacher. She wrote bulletins and reports in Spanish. She interpreted and translated. Currently, she lives with her family in Florida.
